EngravingInscription content: Lettered with eight lines of description on either side of a cartouche: ‘Aspice ut infirmis caelo ruat Icarus alis / Et miser heu rapidis sit periturus aquis:… alta ruina venit’, production detail at lower left ‘Joseph Arpinar inventor / Raphael Guidi sculpsit’ and publication line at right ‘Romae Cesar Capranica excudit / Superiorum permisu 1600’; and lettered in cartouche in lower centre with dedication to ‘Petro Bernino florentino sculptori egregio / Dedalum hunc ex Officina profectum sua / Dat, dicat Raphael Guidus Florentinus / Huius ex animo animum ut spectet suum, / Absentis amici desiderio flagrantem aeque, ac / Amissi filij desiderio flagrat dedalus’.
